The Boys Finally Hit Broadway

The much-anticipated 50th anniversary production of The Boys in the Band opened on Broadway last week to critical acclaim.  There were some caveats regarding the material, the cast, and director Joe Mantello’s decision to run the play as a taut, single 110-minute act – which I think makes sense since the play takes place in real time during a single evening in April 1968.  Nothing I’ve read has deterred my interest in this production, which I plan to see (and review) next month.  If you are interested, I’d suggest being swift of foot.  The limited run closes on August 11th.  Well, all good band boys would want to see the summer out in Fire Island or Ptown!
