If you ask me, HBO<\/em>‘s Gloria Vanderbilt<\/strong>\/Anderson Cooper <\/strong>documentary Nothing Left Unsaid<\/em><\/strong> left quite a bit unsaid.\u00a0 Huge chunks of both of their lives were completely glossed over or ignored.\u00a0 Like what?\u00a0 Well, Anderson’s personal life was verboten<\/em>.\u00a0 OK, so maybe it was more about Gloria.\u00a0 It was nice to see some attention paid to the two sons she had with Leopold Stokowski<\/strong>.\u00a0 We heard from eldest son Stan<\/strong>, but when it came to the second son, Gloria said, “Chris <\/strong>has disassociated himself from us all.\u00a0 He never wants to see any of us again.”\u00a0 Even the death of Anderson’s father and the suicide of his brother didn’t bring Chris back.\u00a0 Gloria seems sanguine on the separation: “It’s been very hard for me to come to this conclusion and point in my life, but I think that is really what he wants.”\u00a0 I find it fascinating that Vanderbilt is resigned to having no contact with a living son for four decades, but has such angst and regret about a son who killed himself in front of her 28 years ago.<\/p>\n

So, what happened with Chris?\u00a0 According to sources, everything started to unravel when Gloria became involved with psychiatrist Dr. Christ Zois<\/strong>.\u00a0 Their relationship went far beyond the typical therapist\/client type.\u00a0 Gloria paid for Dr. Zois, his family, and his lawyer to have first-class vacations, gave them access to her homes, and lavished them with gifts.\u00a0 She also turned a blind eye when he meddled in the affairs of her kids – particularly with Christopher.\u00a0 Her blind eye also extended to her finances.\u00a0 She trusted Zois enough to give him (and his lawyer) power of attorney and control of her finances.\u00a0 She claimed they emptied out her bank accounts, sold off the license to use her name for home furnishings, and didn’t pay her taxes.\u00a0 She sued them and won $1.5 million, with the court saying they preyed on her wealth and emotional fragility.\u00a0 While she got some money back, her relationship with Chris was irreparably damaged.\u00a0 What exactly happened is a mystery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
