Awards season is finally here.\u00a0 Popular opinion is that the Golden Globes <\/em><\/strong>are a barometer for the Oscars<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 If that’s the case, then it should be a pretty cheery couple months for La La Land<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Does anyone light up a room more than Goldie Hawn <\/strong>– whether or not she knows she’s there?\u00a0 Did John Travolta <\/strong>have to leave early to go to work as a maitre d’ <\/em>at a gay restaurant?\u00a0 Shouldn’t Sofia Vergara <\/strong>always be Miss Golden Globes<\/em>?\u00a0 Am I the only one who wants to see My Life as a Zucchini<\/em><\/strong>?\u00a0 And, how do you call the three daughters of Jennifer Flavin <\/strong>“talented”?<\/p>\n

I had a fun-filled night at the Globes <\/em>schmoozing with friends, both old and new.\u00a0 I spent some time on the red carpet with the my twins – Gary <\/strong>and Larry Lane <\/strong>(who were doing coverage for PopWrapped<\/em>). \u00a0Then I almost tripped over Sylvester Stallone <\/strong>– boy, is he short!\u00a0 Ryan Gosling <\/strong>was the first person to slip out moments after the awards ended. \u00a0I caught up with King Cobra<\/em><\/strong> star Garrett Clayton <\/strong>in the lobby. \u00a0At the fabulous HBO <\/em>party, Nicole Kidman <\/strong>literally walked through the press line, got her photo taken, and dashed out the other end.\u00a0 Ditto Sarah Jessica Parker <\/strong>and Reese Witherspoon<\/strong>.\u00a0 Lea Thompson <\/strong>is always a breath of fresh air.\u00a0 Niecy Nash <\/strong>in red never disappoints.\u00a0 Yvette Nicole Brown <\/strong>was stunning in bronze.\u00a0 But I ditched all of them the moment Dame Joan Collins <\/strong>made her entrance.<\/p>\n

I laughed with Project Runaway<\/em><\/strong> alum Blake Patterson<\/strong>.\u00a0 Shared a quiet moment of reflection with Joely Fisher <\/strong>(who was both “proud and sad” that the Golden Globes <\/em>broke tradition and honored the passing of Debbie Reynolds <\/strong>and Carrie Fisher<\/strong>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
