On Broadway<\/em>, some people are coming and some people are going.  Ben Platt <\/strong>has taken Broadway <\/em>by storm with his sensational portrayal of the title role in Dear Evan Hansen<\/em><\/strong>.  But, all good things must come to an end.  He’ll be leaving the show on November 19.  So, who will be the next Evan Hansen?  As it turns out, two people – one I’m happy about, one I’m reserving judgment on.  The first one is Noah Galvin<\/strong>, late of The Real O’Neals<\/em><\/strong>, the one who gave that loathsome interview to Vulture<\/em> where he basically trashed his colleagues, his work, Colton Haynes, and (worst of all) his fans.  He may be a name, but a somewhat tarnished one.  That said, perhaps he’s a lovely boy who has grown up and will do a good job.  Still, I wouldn’t be waiting by the stage door to meet him.<\/p>\n

Happily, he’ll be holding the spot for a real star – Taylor Trensch<\/strong>.  Taylor is currently appearing opposite Bette Midler <\/strong>in the revival of Hello, Dolly!<\/em><\/strong> as Barnaby.  His scenes are a HOOT, and he really deserves this break.  And he’s cute as a button (not like I collect buttons or anything).  Didya know that his real-life beau is Max Crumm<\/strong>, who we first met during that TV show trying to find leads for the Broadway <\/em>production of Grease<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
