Speaking of our favorite Nanny<\/em><\/strong>, I caught up with Fran last week at the opening of Ren\u00e9e Taylor<\/strong>\u2019s one-woman show My Life on a Diet<\/em><\/strong> at the Wallis<\/em> Annenberg<\/em> Center<\/em> in Beverly Hills.  Fran (accompanied by her dashing ex-hubby Peter Marc Jacobson<\/strong>) enthusiastically talked about her upcoming return to sitcom television.  A pilot of Uninsured<\/em><\/strong> was ordered by NBC<\/em>, and the cast just had their first table read.  \u201cAnd everyone is so nice,\u201d gushed Fran.  \u201cIf it\u2019s not going to be fun, why bother?\u201d  And she sure knows about fun \u2013 Drescher has been on the road lately performing her own show, Schmoozing with Fran Drescher<\/em><\/strong>.  She spends half of the show onstage alone telling stories.  And then, Peter comes out to interview her and also take questions from the audience.  I have heard the show has been a smash hit on the road \u2013 so much so that she\u2019s gonna be at Town Hall <\/em>in Provincetown this summer, courtesy of Rick Murray <\/strong>and The Crown & Anchor<\/em><\/strong>.  You can grab tickets for the August 10th<\/sup> show at OnlyAtTheCrown.com<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Back to Ren\u00e9e Taylor.  Quite simply, she\u2019s a national treasure.  What a lady!  The 86-year-old effortlessly weaves her way through a lifetime of struggles with her weight \u2013 which mirrored many of the other struggles in her life and career.  Ironically, once she accepted herself, fame, fortune and love arrived at roughly the same time.  There\u2019s a lesson in there somewhere.  The love Taylor has for the audience was reciprocated by the capacity audience, led by Drescher and other members of The Nanny<\/em><\/strong> cast.  Also in the crowd were veteran actors Hal Linden <\/strong>and Barbara Eden<\/strong>, who recently appeared together in Love Letters<\/em><\/strong>.  My Life on a Diet<\/em> is in the midst of a national tour.  It plays here in Beverly Hills until April 14th<\/sup>.  For more dates and info, check out MyLifeOnADietPlay.com<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.  And, of course, I\u2019ll run photos from the opening on BillyMasters.com<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
