I\u2019m not exactly sure who votes for People<\/em> magazine\u2019s \u201cSexiest Man Alive\u201d.  But I don\u2019t mind that this year the plaudit goes to Chris Evans<\/strong>, another Boston boy.  Here\u2019s a fun fact \u2013 Chris and I often frequented the same pizza joint in Somerville.  That he became Captain America <\/em>and I became the World\u2019s Most Beloved Columnist <\/em>might be due to the mozzarella.  Chris was modest as ever when he said, \u201cIt\u2019s something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say, \u2018I remember then\u2026\u2019\u201d  Trust me, Chris, it ain\u2019t so bad.  Plus, we can eat all the pizza we want!<\/p>\n

North of the border, Justin Trudeau <\/strong>will make an appearance on Canada\u2019s Drag Race<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 the Mounties\u2019 version of RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race<\/em><\/strong>.  This makes him the first world leader to appear on the show.  Well, you didn\u2019t expect Angela Merkel <\/strong>or Benjamin Netanyahu <\/strong>to lip sync for their lives, did you?  The show debuts next week in a special season entitled Canada vs. the World<\/em>.  And I thought Canada was only competitive in ice hockey and curling!<\/p>\n

Speaking of world leaders, I\u2019m troubled to discover that Queen Elizabeth II <\/strong>was a fan of Tom Cruise<\/strong>.  Reportedly, QEII <\/em><\/strong>was upset that she didn\u2019t get to meet Cruise during her Platinum Jubilee <\/em><\/strong>celebrations (he went to an equestrian event at Windsor Castle<\/em>, which she bowed out of).  To make up for it, she invited him for a private tour of the castle \u2013 and even served him high tea and finger sandwiches!  And, as you know, Cruise loves a finger\u2026or two!<\/p>\n

He\u2019s not a world leader.  In fact, he\u2019s no leader at all.  But former Pope Benedict <\/strong>finds himself in a heap of trouble.  And I\u2019m seeing a trend \u2013 because this also goes back to Boston.  Remember the Catholic sex scandal?  When members of the church who were accused of molesting young boys were simply taken out of one church and moved to another?  It was all immortalized in Spotlight<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 good movie.  This game of musical clergy was not limited to Boston.  A German man is suing for the cover-up of the abuse he suffered at the hands of his parish priest back when Benedict was Archbishop of Munich<\/em>.  And according to the Vatican<\/em>, Benedict plans to defend himself!  Now, don\u2019t get too excited \u2013 it\u2019s not like he\u2019s gonna slip on his red shoes and go all To Kill a Mockingbird<\/em><\/strong> on us.  Ben\u2019s going to personally hire an attorney.  Everybody had better move quickly \u2013 Benedict is currently 95!<\/p>\n
