Remember when Neil Patrick Harris<\/strong>\u2019 show Uncoupled<\/em><\/strong> was cancelled by Netflix<\/em>?  We\u2019ve got good news \u2013 Uncoupled<\/em> has been picked up by Showtime<\/em>.  Because, you know, what else do they have?  I\u2019m told the budget was slashed, but NPH and company are willing to do whatever it takes to keep the show afloat.  Showtime had one edict \u2013 make it raunchier.  Throw in more Tuc<\/strong>, and I\u2019m there!<\/p>\n

Details about the long-gestating Frasier<\/em><\/strong> reboot have finally been revealed.  The plan was for Frasier to be in a new city with a new cast \u2013 much like when the character relocated from Boston to Seattle.  Well, brace yourself \u2013 Frasier is returning to Boston!  We\u2019re told that Bebe Neuwirth <\/strong>will be back as Lilith.  The couple\u2019s son, Freddy, has been recast with actor Jack Cutmore-Scott<\/strong>.  And the son of Niles and Daphne, David, will be attending college in Boston \u2013 and portrayed by Anders Keith<\/strong>.  Thus far, nobody else from the Frasier<\/em>\/Cheers<\/em><\/strong> family has signed on as a regular, but there\u2019s quite a cast of characters who could drop in (including those nice boys from Wings<\/em><\/strong>).  The show will debut on Paramount+<\/em> this fall.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Paramount+<\/em> has given the axe to Star Trek: Discovery<\/em><\/strong>.  The series will end in early 2024.  \u201cThe final season will see our beloved crew take on a new adventure and we can\u2019t wait to celebrate the series\u2019 impact on the franchise leading up to its final season early next year,\u201d says Paramount<\/em>\u2019s chief programming officer.  There\u2019s one slight problem \u2013 filming of season five wrapped prior to this decision being made.  I\u2019m told that the cast is being called back for several weeks of reshoots.<\/p>\n

Chris Pine <\/strong>\u2013 the Captain Kirk of the movie reboot \u2013 has some choice words to say about the status of the next Star Trek<\/em><\/strong> flick.  \u201cIt feels like it\u2019s cursed!\u201d  When asked for details about Star Trek 4<\/em><\/strong>, Pine said, \u201cI don\u2019t know anything.  In Star Trek <\/em>land, the actors are usually the last people to find out anything.  I know costume designers that have read scripts before the actors.\u201d  Well, you know, it takes a long time to make those Klingon <\/em>heads!<\/p>\n

One of Pine\u2019s castmates isn\u2019t waiting around.  Zachary Quinto<\/strong>, who plays Spock, will headline a new series for NBC<\/em>.  Wolf<\/em><\/strong> is based on the book (and play), The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat<\/em><\/strong>, and will find Quinto playing neurologist Dr. Oliver Wolf.  NBC <\/em>hopes to find a slot for the show in the upcoming fall season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
