{"id":91755,"date":"2023-08-27T11:29:42","date_gmt":"2023-08-27T18:29:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.billymasters.com\/custom\/?p=91755"},"modified":"2023-08-27T11:29:42","modified_gmt":"2023-08-27T18:29:42","slug":"and-just-like-that-more-sex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.billymasters.com\/custom\/blog\/2023\/08\/27\/and-just-like-that-more-sex\/","title":{"rendered":"And Just Like That&#8230;More Sex"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cIt exploded in my mouth.&nbsp; I wasn\u2019t expecting that.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><br \/>\n\u2013 <\/em><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">Nya on the <strong><em>And Just Like That\u2026 <\/em><\/strong>season finale, after she \u201cate the black one\u201d.&nbsp;<br \/>\nOh, that <strong>Michael Patrick King <\/strong>\u2013 so clever.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>During the season two finale of <strong><em>And Just Like That\u2026<\/em><\/strong>, we finally got to see <strong>Kim Cattrall<\/strong>\u2019s cameo.&nbsp; More than we expected, less than anyone wanted (and by anyone, I mean the viewers, not the cast).&nbsp; I found it interesting that in season one, none of the characters were talking to Samantha, and yet everyone was always talking about (or texting with) Samantha.&nbsp; In between seasons one and two, they reconciled.&nbsp; And we know this because in season two nobody ever talked about (or texted with) Samantha.&nbsp; I decided to rewatch every episode of <strong><em>Sex and the City<\/em><\/strong>, the two movies, and season one of <em>AJLT<\/em> before watching season two.&nbsp; And you know what?&nbsp; None of it is as bad as I recalled.&nbsp; It (almost) flows \u2013 aside from some glaring inconsistencies.&nbsp; But while there were always many characters, mostly we only saw them through the eyes of the leads.&nbsp; Why?&nbsp; Because that\u2019s all we needed to know.&nbsp; In the current series, we have lots of information about lots of people we don\u2019t know or care about \u2013 with the notable exception of Seema, who is fantastic and well integrated.&nbsp; The others would be interesting characters in their own series.&nbsp; It\u2019s also clear that the criticism of <em>SATC<\/em> being too \u201cwhite\u201d led to every lead character suddenly having a best friend of color.&nbsp; It\u2019s so disingenuous, it\u2019s not worth discussing.&nbsp; <em>AJLT<\/em> was just picked up for a third season, so we can only speculate what direction it will go in.&nbsp; But here\u2019s to hoping we\u2019ll never see Che again; LTW and hubby will move to DC; there will be an issue with Lisette\u2019s buying the brownstone (due to the stain on the ceiling); and Nya and her chef open a restaurant that the group occasionally eat at.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cIt exploded in my mouth.&nbsp; I wasn\u2019t expecting that.\u201d&nbsp; \u2013 Nya on the And Just Like That\u2026 season finale, after she \u201cate the black one\u201d.&nbsp; Oh, that Michael Patrick King \u2013 so clever.
