{"id":92202,"date":"2024-01-15T01:12:09","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T09:12:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.billymasters.com\/custom\/?p=92202"},"modified":"2024-01-15T01:12:09","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T09:12:09","slug":"networks-nobody-watches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.billymasters.com\/custom\/blog\/2024\/01\/15\/networks-nobody-watches\/","title":{"rendered":"Networks Nobody Watches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cAs you all know, <strong>Mel <\/strong>is a famous EGOT.&nbsp;<br \/>\nAnd, after tonight, he\u2019ll be the even rarer EGOOT!\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><br \/>\n\u2013 <\/em><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\"><strong>Nathan Lane<\/strong> presents <strong>Mel Brooks <\/strong>with an <em>Honorary Oscar <\/em>at the <strong><em>14<sup>th<\/sup> Governors Awards<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I can\u2019t say it enough times \u2013 truth is stranger than fiction.&nbsp; Every once in a while, a headline catches my eye: \u201cMexican Teen Carries Decapitated Sister\u2019s Head Down the Street\u201d.&nbsp; This took place in Quiroga, which, admittedly, is not one of Mexico\u2019s more popular destinations.&nbsp; Still, I was sure this was a made-up story \u2013 like half the cases on <strong><em>Caso Cerrado<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp; But I did my due diligence and was shocked to discover that it did, in fact, happen.&nbsp; 19-year-old <strong>Sebasti\u00e1n <\/strong>was arrested when witnesses saw him carrying his sister <strong>Julieta<\/strong>\u2019s decapitated head \u201cin broad daylight\u201d \u2013 as if moonlight would have made it all better!&nbsp; Obviously he was arrested, and the police stated he appeared to be intoxicated.&nbsp; I have so many questions, including why he was carrying a rifle.&nbsp; A machete, yes.&nbsp; But a rifle?&nbsp; On the other hand, nobody has said anything about his sister\u2019s torso.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-568\" src=\"http:\/\/www.billymasters.com\/custom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/colorbar1.gif\" alt=\"colorbar1\" width=\"500\" height=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>Many people complained to me about the <strong><em>Golden Globes<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp; They didn\u2019t have an issue with <strong>Jo Koy <\/strong>or the ceremony itself.&nbsp; They just cannot comprehend why network shows no longer get nominated.&nbsp; Not only did many people never hear of the shows, they hadn\u2019t heard of most of the networks.&nbsp; I have news for them \u2013 it\u2019s only going to get worse.&nbsp; This week, <strong>Don Lemon <\/strong>announced his return to the \u201cairwaves\u201d\u2026and I use that term loosely.&nbsp; <strong><em>The Don Lemon Show<\/em><\/strong> will appear on <em>X<\/em>, formerly known as <em>Twitter<\/em>.&nbsp; I remember scoffing when people were doing shows on <em>Amazon<\/em>.&nbsp; At this rate, people will be nominated for shows that can only be seen in cabs (and don\u2019t ask, \u201cWhat\u2019s a cab?\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>Someone who used to have a show \u2013 and perhaps still does, but nobody knows where you can see it \u2013 is <strong><em>Judge Judy<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp; <strong>Judith Sheindlin <\/strong>has used her somewhat diminished platform to endorse <strong>Nikki Haley<\/strong>.&nbsp; \u201cI\u2019m proud to endorse Nikki Haley because she is whip smart, has executive credentials and was a superb governor.&nbsp; I truly think she can restore America and believe she is the future of this great nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cAs you all know, Mel is a famous EGOT.&nbsp; And, after tonight, he\u2019ll be the even rarer EGOOT!\u201d&nbsp; \u2013 Nathan Lane presents Mel Brooks with an Honorary Oscar at the 14th Governors Awards.
