But not all stage adaptations are as successful.&nbsp; Many have had varying degrees of success on the road to Broadway.&nbsp; I told you that a stage version of <strong><em>My Best Friend\u2019s Wedding<\/em><\/strong> will bow at the <em>Ogunquit Playhouse <\/em>this fall.&nbsp; But there are some other shows opening before that.&nbsp; Chicago has been a popular city to try out new musicals.&nbsp; The next one opening there is a toe-tapper based on <strong><em>Death Becomes Her<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp; It opens at the <em>Cadillac Palace Theatre <\/em>on April 30<sup>th<\/sup> and stars our <em>bon ami <\/em><strong>Christopher Sieber <\/strong>alongside <strong>Jennifer Simard <\/strong>\u2013 who previously played his wife in <strong><em>Company<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp; They are joined by <strong>Megan Hilty <\/strong>and <strong>Michelle Williams<\/strong>.&nbsp; No word yet if <strong>Meryl Streep<\/strong>\u2019s showstopper \u201cMe\u201d from the film will find its way into this adaptation.&nbsp; To not have it would be a crime of infinite proportions.&nbsp; While we wait, you can get more details at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.DeathBecomesHer.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>DeathBecomesHer.com<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Atlanta will see the world premiere musical version of <strong><em>The Preacher\u2019s Wife<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp; &nbsp;The <em>Alliance Theatre <\/em>has this one opening on May 11<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; Music and lyrics come courtesy of <strong>Tituss Burgess<\/strong>, the show is directed by <strong>Michael Arden<\/strong>, and <strong>Loretta Devine <\/strong>takes on the role of Julia\u2019s mother \u2013 made famous in the film by the scene-stealing <strong>Jenifer Lewis<\/strong>.&nbsp; But it is getting a new production at the <em>La Mirada Theatre<\/em>&#8230;courtesy of producer <strong>Cathy Rigby <\/strong>and her husband.&nbsp; And <strong>Jason Alexander <\/strong>takes on the iconic role of Tevye, the beleaguered milkman.&nbsp;
