{"id":92698,"date":"2024-06-09T23:19:36","date_gmt":"2024-06-10T06:19:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.billymasters.com\/custom\/?p=92698"},"modified":"2024-06-09T23:19:36","modified_gmt":"2024-06-10T06:19:36","slug":"kylie-and-ricky-are-proud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.billymasters.com\/custom\/blog\/2024\/06\/09\/kylie-and-ricky-are-proud\/","title":{"rendered":"Kylie and Ricky are Proud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cI\u2019m single.&nbsp; I\u2019m feeling full of pride.&nbsp; And PrEP.\u201d <\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><br \/>\n\u2013 <\/em><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\"><strong>Jonathan Groff <\/strong>welcomes the audience to the <strong><em>Pride of Broadway <\/em><\/strong>event.&nbsp;<br \/>\nYou know what they say \u2013 better safe than pregnant.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Welcome to another <strong><em>Pride Month<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp; And what better way to show our solidarity than competing <em>Pride <\/em>events?&nbsp; Oh, those wacky folks in Los Angeles.&nbsp; When I hosted <strong><em>LA Pride <\/em><\/strong>(for seven consecutive years, but who\u2019s counting?), we were united \u2013 because there\u2019s enough of <strong>Billy <\/strong>to go around.&nbsp; Then West Hollywood booted <em>LA Pride <\/em>and now has <strong><em>OUTLOUD Music Festival<\/em><\/strong>, where the word \u201cPride\u201d is eschewed.&nbsp; What can I say?&nbsp; It was a kinder, gentler, and certainly cheaper time.&nbsp; Oh, yes \u2013 <em>OUTLOUD <\/em>tickets were several hundred dollars.&nbsp; When I\u2019m hosting, I have one rule of thumb: you give me all-access, I\u2019ll give you all-access.&nbsp; Of course, I wasn\u2019t hosting a concert by <strong>Kylie Minogue <\/strong>\u2013 and compared to her Vegas prices, people in WeHo actually got a bargain.&nbsp; They also got, from all accounts, a fantastic show.&nbsp; There were others who performed throughout the weekend.&nbsp; People like <strong>Janelle Mon\u00e1e <\/strong>and <strong>Keke Palmer<\/strong>.&nbsp; For those who didn\u2019t want to break the bank, the festival kicked off with a free Friday night concert headlined by <strong>Adam Lambert <\/strong>and <strong>Kesha <\/strong>\u2013 who apparently no longer sports a dollar sign in her name.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Not to be outdone, <strong><em>LA Pride in the Park <\/em><\/strong>held a concert a week later, and they had some star power of their own \u2013 <strong>Ricky Martin<\/strong>!&nbsp; Also appearing was <strong>JoJo Siwa <\/strong>\u2013 well, the Lord giveth&#8230;&nbsp; Tickets started at a far more reasonable price, but VIP access was available for those who had a few hundred to spend.&nbsp; Ricky kept the capacity crowd entertained with a high-energy set which featured his hips on overdrive (and they didn\u2019t seem to be lying).&nbsp; He even showed a good amount of skin, the color of mocha.&nbsp; Once everyone dried off, pride went from the park to the street for the annual <strong><em>LA Pride March <\/em><\/strong>down Hollywood Boulevard with Grand Marshal <strong>George Takei<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cI\u2019m single.&nbsp; I\u2019m feeling full of pride.&nbsp; And PrEP.\u201d &nbsp; \u2013 Jonathan Groff welcomes the audience to the Pride of Broadway event.&nbsp; You know what they say \u2013 better safe than pregnant.
