Murrow<\/strong>\u2019s skirmishes with Senator <strong>Joseph McCarthy<\/strong>.&nbsp; It is due to open sometime next spring.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that a few other famous fellas will also be turning up on the <em>Great White Way<\/em> next season, including <strong>Denzel Washington<\/strong>, <strong>Jake Gyllenhaal<\/strong>, <strong>Peter Gallagher<\/strong> and <strong>Kit Connor<\/strong>.&nbsp; Then there\u2019s <strong>Robert Downey Jr<\/strong>. \u2013 who appeared in the film version of <strong><em>Good Night, and Good Luck<\/em><\/strong> with Clooney.&nbsp; He\u2019ll beat George to <em>Broadway<\/em> when he stars in a new play called <strong><em>McNeal<\/em><\/strong>, about an acclaimed writer struggling with his next project \u2013 until he becomes fascinated with AI.&nbsp; It starts previews on September 5<sup>th<\/sup> and opens on the 30<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.billymasters.com\/custom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/colorbar1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-568\" src=\"http:\/\/www.billymasters.com\/custom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/colorbar1.gif\" alt=\"colorbar1\" width=\"500\" height=\"1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I can thank my lucky stars that I saw <strong>Ian McKellen<\/strong> last month in <strong><em>Player Kings<\/em><\/strong> in London\u2019s <em>West End<\/em> because it is entirely possible that could have been his last stage appearance.&nbsp; After taking a tumble off stage, he bowed out of the show for the last two weeks of the run in London \u2013 <strong>David Semark<\/strong> took on Sir Ian\u2019s role of Falstaff.&nbsp; At the time, we heard that despite injuries to his wrist and neck, McKellen would still lead a tour with the show this summer.&nbsp; Alas, that was wishful thinking.&nbsp; \u201cIt is with the greatest reluctance that I have accepted the medical advice to protect my full recovery by not working in the meantime.\u201d&nbsp; He hastened to add, \u201cDoctors have assured me that my recovery will be complete and speedy and I look forward to returning to work.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>George Clooney is poised to make his Broadway debut in a stage adaptation of his 2005 film Good Night, and Good Luck.&nbsp; Like the film, the play will center on Edward R.
