With all the love in the air, you\u2019d swear it was spring.  But here we are, a bit of a nip in the air, on the cusp of fall, and we have oodles of wedding news.  First up, our pal Billy Gilman <\/strong>tied the knot with his boyfriend, Anthony Carbone<\/strong>.  The ceremony took place on a 45-acre horse farm in Rhode Island \u2013 as all good gay weddings should.  Carbone said, \u201cIt was not about the pomp and the fuss of everything \u2013 but about what it all means to us.  I just really wanted to keep it simple, with the closest core of our family and friends who have watched our love story grow every single day.\u201d  With over 120 in attendance, I can only assume my invitation got lost in the mail.<\/p>\n

Then Rupert Everett <\/strong>made a shocking announcement \u2013 he got married earlier this year!  This is surprising since he previously called the institution of marriage, \u201cnot my idea of heaven\u201d \u2013 which I suppose is better than it being his idea of hell.  Not surprisingly, he married longtime beau Henrique<\/strong>, who we hear is a Brazilian accountant.  A \u201cfriend\u201d revealed, \u201cHenrique is absolutely charming.  He\u2019s rather quiet and happy to let Rupert take centre stage\u201d \u2013 which begs the question, where can I find a Henrique of my own?  While details remain scarce, we\u2019re told the low-key ceremony took place at London\u2019s Camden Town Hall<\/em>, followed by lunch at Ciao Bella <\/em>\u2013 Dutch treat, I\u2019m sure.  \u201cI have always hated weddings, although I do love funerals,\u201d Rupert quipped.  I do hope that wasn\u2019t his toast!<\/p>\n

Speaking of Rupert, the Ogunquit Playhouse <\/em>will host the world premiere musical version of My Best Friend\u2019s Wedding<\/em><\/strong>.  The songs all come from the Burt Bacharach<\/strong>–Hal David <\/strong>songbook, and the cast includes two of our favorites.  Tony-winner Matt Doyle <\/strong>plays Michael \u2013 the best friend in question.  Assuming the role of George (made famous by Mr. Everett), we have our own Telly Leung<\/strong>, who will undoubtedly deliver his special brand of sass.  The show runs September 26th<\/sup> through October 27th<\/sup>, and you can get tickets at OgunquitPlayhouse.org<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Not all marriages weather the storm.  It\u2019s with that sentiment that Leah Remini <\/strong>and her husband Angelo <\/strong>announced they are splitting up.  This one saddens me, because I liked them as a couple.  Sure, we never know what people are like when the cameras aren\u2019t rolling.  Leah acknowledges that in her statement about why the marriage didn\u2019t last.  \u201cTo put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn\u2019t fit us anymore.\u201d  Ain\u2019t that something?  I don\u2019t know if I\u2019ve ever heard it explained as honestly before.  Good luck to them both.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
