Did you enjoy your Halloween?  Mine started out on a bad note when CNN showed a Trump rally in Nevada hyping up the audience by playing Belinda Carlisle<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cHeaven is a Place on Earth\u201d.  On behalf of Miss Carlisle (to say nothing of Miss Warren<\/strong>), I took umbrage at him co-opting the song.  But they\u2019re in good company with other artists who have been in the same boat.  If nothing else, I guess we can all be grateful he wasn\u2019t onstage \u201cdancing\u201d!<\/p>\n

Anyone who says Cher<\/strong> does more farewell tours than anyone has clearly never heard of The Go-Go\u2019s<\/em><\/strong>.  They\u2019ve had about half a dozen.  Their brief 2022 tour after being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame <\/em>was the most recent farewell.  But, never say never again \u2013 The Go-Go\u2019s <\/em>are back.  They are one of the performers at the Cruel World Fest<\/em><\/strong><\/a> at the Rose Bowl <\/em>in Pasadena on May 17th<\/sup>.  They\u2019re on the bill with such folk as New Order<\/em><\/strong>, Devo<\/em><\/strong>, Garbage<\/em><\/strong>, Madness<\/em><\/strong>, \u2018Til Tuesday<\/em><\/strong>, etc.  If our girls are true to form, they\u2019ll do a handful of other area concerts.<\/p>\n

Speaking of Cher, the thrilling Thirsty Burlington <\/strong>finished a spectacular run of her Cher<\/em><\/strong> 1987<\/em><\/strong> show this summer in Provincetown.  Well, she\u2019s returning to the scene of the crime for a special one-night-only event called Christmas is Cher-ing<\/em><\/strong>.  Now, I\u2019m no rocket scientist, but that sure sounds to me like a Cher <\/em><\/strong>Christmas Special<\/em>.  Quick, someone alert Paul Shaffer <\/strong>(never mind \u2013 I just texted him).  The spectacle takes place on December 7th<\/sup> at the Crown & Anchor <\/em>in Provincetown.  Tickets are available at OnlyAtTheCrown.com<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s the riotous Randy Roberts<\/strong>, who has been delighting audiences at La Te Da <\/em>in Key West for eons.  And he just got a plumb gig which will be televised live around the globe!  For 25 years, the sensational Sushi <\/strong>has rung in the New Year in Key West by being lowered in a red stiletto from the balcony of the Bourbon Street<\/em> Pub<\/em>.  2022 marked Sushi\u2019s last year.  In 2023, Christopher Peterson <\/strong>of Eycons<\/em><\/strong> fame slipped into the perilously perched pump.  This year, Randy Roberts <\/strong>takes over the tradition \u2013 which typically airs live on CNN<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
