Then there\u2019s Nicole Scherzinger<\/strong>.  Poor, crazy but talented Nicole Scherzinger \u2013 who I bet has also given a handy or two in her day.  She\u2019s in the middle of a career apex \u2013 starring in Sunset Boulevard<\/em><\/strong> on Broadway <\/em>and being touted as a shoo-in for a Tony<\/em>.  And then she sees Russell Brand<\/strong>\u2019s Instagram <\/em>post with a red hat that says \u201cMake Jesus <\/strong>First Again\u201d and decides to type, \u201cWhere do I get this hat?\u201d  I don\u2019t wanna imply there\u2019s anything wrong with liking Jesus, or Ramtha<\/strong>, or David Miscavige<\/strong>.  But when you see those words on a red hat \u2013 well, she\u2019s not that stupid.  She knew what that meant \u2013 as did scores of theatre queens.  People took to social media like they saw a video of her killing a baby…or at least killing a song.  They gave away their tickets, called for boycotts, and chastised her.  Clearly Nicole has some good gay friends, because someone obviously pulled her aside and said, \u201cYou in danger, girl!\u201d  She took to social media, saying she wanted to \u201cdeeply apologize for the hurt caused by my recent engagement with some social media posts.  I made a mistake of not realizing that they could be easily interpreted as being politically related and I apologize to anyone who understandably reached that conclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of Broadway<\/em>, one of the funniest clips I\u2019ve seen in ages was Jonathan Groff <\/strong>on the Tactful Pettiness<\/em><\/strong> podcast.  He was asked to address the rumor started by the late Naya Rivera <\/strong>that Lea Michele <\/strong>can\u2019t read!  He really couldn\u2019t talk \u2013 he was shaking uncontrollably and giggling like a schoolgirl.  He then admitted that he\u2019s actually seen her read from a script, and that she does not come to set \u201coff book\u201d.  I\u2019ll post this hysterical clip, along with a video of Lea actually \u201creading\u201d (unless she memorized it in advance), on BillyMasters.com<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

By the by, Groff recently got some good news.  He will star in a new musical about singer Bobby Darrin<\/strong>.  Just in Time<\/em><\/strong> will begin previews March 28th<\/sup> and open on April 23rd<\/sup>.  Groff is also a co-producer.<\/p>\n

One of Jonathan\u2019s more notable exes, Gavin Creel<\/strong>, will be celebrated on Broadway <\/em>with two special events.  On Monday, December 2nd<\/sup> at 4PM, there will be a public memorial service at the St. James Theatre<\/em>.  And then on Tuesday, December 3rd<\/sup> at 6:45PM, Broadway <\/em>will dim their marquee lights.  Sure to be a magical moment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
