Comedian Rob Schneider <\/strong>claims he is launching an \u201call-ladies talk show\u201d that will offer an alternative to The View<\/em><\/strong>.  \u201cIt will be the opposite because this will be entertaining.  It\u2019ll be funny.\u201d  Darling, it\u2019s been done \u2013 it\u2019s called The Talk<\/em><\/strong>, and it goes off the air on December 20th<\/sup> due to low ratings!  Schneider is producing the effort with his company, No Apologies Media<\/em>, and made the announcement on FOX<\/em> News<\/em>.  He didn\u2019t report many particulars.  When it came to hosts, he said, \u201cIt\u2019s household names, and you\u2019re going to love it.\u201d  That remains to be seen.  Oh, he did bring up potential names for the show: Lip Service<\/em><\/strong> or The Other View<\/em><\/strong>.  How original!<\/p>\n

In a related story, my dear Darlene Love <\/strong>announced that she is returning to late night to perform her perennial holiday classic, \u201cChristmas (Baby Please Come Home)\u201d.  As you know, Love sang the song on The Late Show with David Letterman<\/em><\/strong> for 28 consecutive years.  When Dave went off the air, she began appearing on The View<\/em> \u2013 that lasted for nine years.  Apparently The View<\/em> is going in another direction \u2013 which is odd since their executive producer, Brian Teta <\/strong>(who may be a cousin of mine), worked for Letterman<\/strong>!  Enter Jimmy Fallon<\/strong>, who appeared with Darlene once on The View<\/em>.  He picked up the gauntlet and asked her to sing the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/strong> along with Stevie Van Zandt<\/strong>\u2019s band on December 18th<\/sup>.  Fun fact – Little Stevie and his band played with Darlene last year on The View<\/em>!  Anyhoo, congrats.<\/p>\n

Barry Manilow <\/strong>just got the best holiday gift of all.  The founder and executive chairman of the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino <\/em>announced Barry has a \u201cLifetime Residency\u201d at their showroom.  In case you don\u2019t know, the Westgate opened in 1969 as The International<\/em>.  The showroom where Barry is playing opened with a young gal named Barbra Streisand<\/strong>.  Miss Peggy Lee <\/strong>was performing in the lounge.  So Manilow is in good company \u2013 unless Babs wants to make another comeback, and then I suspect he\u2019s history!<\/p>\n

Cheyenne Jackson <\/strong>just finished a run of the musical La Cage aux Folles<\/em><\/strong> at the Pasadena Playhouse<\/em>.  He revealed that the set, designed by Tony<\/em>-winner David Zinn<\/strong>, had a special feature \u2013 one of the walls was covered with photos of queer icons.  \u201cSome are still with us, some have passed.  He kindly placed my two beloved besties Leslie Jordan <\/strong>and Gavin Creel <\/strong>right next to me because I do most of my scenes stage right.  I\u2019m so grateful to him for his love, sensitivity, and artistry.\u201d<\/p>\n
