This column is being written prior to the Coronation<\/em>…er, the Inauguration<\/em>.  I don\u2019t have lots of thoughts \u2013 other than I think it\u2019s amusing that El Presidente <\/em>believes Hollywood is in another country.  Why else would he need Special Ambassadors to Hollywood<\/em><\/strong>?  Unless he means \u201cspecial\u201d as in \u201cspecial needs\u201d.  Next, I really don\u2019t care about Carrie Underwood<\/strong>, but I think anyone who can make a lot of money and get international exposure is lucky.  Good for her.  Yes, I know how many gay people feel.  One such fan posted this to Carrie: \u201cDon\u2019t ever call yourself an LGBTQ ally again, you\u2019re supporting the man that wants to abolish LGBTQ rights, you should be ashamed.\u201d  I\u2019m ashamed that this person doesn\u2019t know the difference between a comma and a period.  I have no problem with Nancy Pelosi <\/strong>sitting this out.  But I\u2019d pay good money to watch her try to do \u201cY.M.C.A.\u201d without breaking a hip!<\/p>\n

You know what does shame me?  Seeing Joe Manganiello <\/strong>hosting Deal or No Deal Island<\/em><\/strong>.  First off…REALLY?  I don\u2019t have oodles of respect for him as an \u201cactor\u201d, but even I think he\u2019s better than this.  Apparently one of the trades thinks so \u2013 in writing about the show, they called him a \u201cveteran actor\u201d!  Well, any chance one gets to see Joe shirtless is fine by me.  But I\u2019ve seen lots of reality shows, and I\u2019ve rarely seen the hosts topless.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the end of an era.  When acclaimed gay party promoter Jeffrey Sanker <\/strong>died in 2021, one thought his empire would crumble.  But it continued…although in a somewhat diminished capacity.  Last week, it was announced that the legendary White Party <\/em><\/strong>in Palm Springs (which typically takes place around Easter weekend) was cancelled.  They are not saying it\u2019s gone for good, but it sure sounds like it.  \u201cWhile it\u2019s bittersweet to take a pause, this gives us an opportunity to reflect and explore new ways to innovate and evolve\u201d.<\/p>\n

Someone else taking a pause is Bobby Berk<\/strong>.  The former Queer Eye<\/em><\/strong> host sold his home in the Hollywood Hills.  First he\u2019s drummed out of the show, then he\u2019s drummed out of Hollywood.  We hear he will not relocate in the area.<\/p>\n

Some people take a pause against their will.  Take Wendy Williams<\/strong>.  She\u2019s been (allegedly) locked in a facility against her will with limited contact with family and friends.  Her crime?  None that I can think of.  People say they are doing it for her own good \u2013 but I don\u2019t know how selling someone\u2019s home, giving away their pets, confining them to a facility, and keeping them away from their father\u2019s 94th<\/sup> birthday is good.  Wendy found a way to get her message out directly \u2013 via Charlamagne The God <\/strong>and The Breakfast Club<\/em><\/strong> (you can hear the full interview on BillyMasters.com<\/u><\/strong>).  She called into the show last week sounding surprisingly lucid \u2013 aside from repeating \u201cyou know what I\u2019m saying\u201d about two thousand times.  I am completely Team Wendy <\/em><\/strong>on this.  Even if she is mentally compromised, why shouldn\u2019t she be able to choose where and how she wants to live?  It\u2019s a world gone mad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
