Since we\u2019re in a religious mood, let\u2019s start with news from Vatican City.  Last week, a story circulated that Pope Leo <\/strong>would put the kibosh on priests blessing same-sex couples.  While the Catholic Church <\/em>does not formally embrace such unions, Pope Francis <\/strong>not only blessed such gay couples, he also welcomed them into the church (much like Christians were encouraged to pet the lions in the Colosseum<\/em>).  Vatican spokesperson Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez <\/strong>recently did an interview with Il Messaggero<\/em> (which, for those of you not possessing a foreign tongue, means The Messenger<\/em>).  When asked if the blessing policy which Franny initiated in 2023 would be reversed, Victor said, \u201cI really don\u2019t think so \u2013 the declaration will remain.\u201d  Of course, he said it in Italian.<\/p>\n

In the latest governmental folly, El Presidente <\/em>is threatening to revoke Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/strong>\u2019s citizenship!  On his social media site, Trump <\/strong>wrote, \u201cBecause of the fact that Rosie O\u2019Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship.  She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her.\u201d  While I\u2019d typically scoff and call it ludicrous, stranger things have happened,  Sure, it\u2019s beyond his power…for now.  Rosie wasn\u2019t one to take this lying down.  \u201cthe potus ladies n gentlemen is a disgrace to all our beautiful country stands for- he is a danger to the nation \u2013 a mentally ill untreated criminal who lied to America for a decade on the apprentice \u2013 thanks mark burnett \u2013 and u fell for it \u2013 its so tragic \u2013 had u grown up in Ny \u2013 as I did and he did \u2013 you too would know what a total fool he is \u2013 add me to the list of people who oppose him at every turn \u2013 its now or never America us \u2013 my little posts from dublin upset him \u2013 go arrest a few brown people u truly evil man child.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back in 2021, some guy driving a pickup truck vandalized the rainbow crosswalk in Delray Beach, Florida on Donald Trump<\/strong>\u2019s birthday.  I was reminded of this story when I read that Transportation Secretary <\/em>Sean Duffy <\/strong>wants a nationwide ban on all rainbow crosswalks.  He claims his intent is to make intersections safe from \u201cdistractions\u201d.  He also stated that \u201croads are for safety, not political messages or artwork.\u201d  You may recall that Sean is an alum of The Real World<\/em><\/strong>, as is his spousal equivalent, Rachel Campos<\/strong>, who first came to our attention as a dear friend of Pedro Zamora <\/strong>(I believe she also banged Puck<\/strong>, but that\u2019s another story).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
