Violence is never the answer.  I was reminded of that when a local hothead accosted me in the crowded parking lot of a popular Chinese restaurant.  While I did indeed tap his car door trying to get out of my own vehicle, I left no mark.  This did not stop him from attempting to initiate a physical altercation.  When he saw I was neither intimidated nor impressed, he not only caused physical damage to my car, he shoved me!  I calmly called the police, who I am told apprehended him after he fled the scene.  I\u2019m told he has been charged with various criminal felonies.  And I enjoyed my dinner.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know Donald <\/strong>or Jacob Zieben-Hood<\/strong>.  My esteemed colleague Michael Musto <\/strong>posted the following on social media: \u201cDon Hood is a fitness model slash promoter whom I know from the club scene.  He and his husband fought constantly, and Hood exacerbated things by repeatedly violating an order of protection.  Well, the husband died on Friday morning, covered in stab wounds, following yet another fight between the couple.  The husband, Jacob Zieben-Hood, had called his father earlier to say that Hood wouldn\u2019t let him leave their apartment and was \u2018coming after him\u2019.  Hood is charged with violating an order of protection…and there\u2019s also that burglary thing and oh yeah, carrying a weapon.  And I\u2019m pretty certain he\u2019ll also have \u2018murderer\u2019 on his resume soon enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then performer Mark MacKillop <\/strong>wrote: \u201cThere was this guy I used to want to date so bad.  We spent time together a few summers ago.  He was beautiful but cocky & it turned me off.  Story just dropped that he allegedly stabbed his boyfriend to death.  Dear Universe thank you for removing me from that situation.\u201d   After that, a fan wrote me the following.  \u201cI went out with Donald a few times.  He was an asshole and definitely had dangerous mood swings.  But he was so fuckin\u2019 hot.  Now he\u2019s killed his husband.  What\u2019s wrong with him?\u201d  The bigger question \u2013 what\u2019s wrong with all of us?  It\u2019s simple \u2013 we\u2019re guys.  We respond to physical beauty.  How many gay men forgave Luigi Mangione <\/strong>or those poor misunderstood Menendez<\/strong> boys because they were hot?  If they were fat, missing an eye, and sporting a hump, nobody would be rushing to their defense.  OK, maybe some straight women would!  It\u2019s not just gay men.  Straight men will stay with crazy women if they\u2019re hot (well, hot to them).  That\u2019s how we\u2019re wired.<\/p>\n

P.S. It\u2019s true \u2013 this Donald guy IS hot.  Then again, so was his dead husband.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a stage show about Mangione has been selling out performances in San Francisco.  Luigi: The Musical<\/em><\/strong> not only turns the spotlight on the alleged murderer, but also takes on Sean <\/strong>\u201cDiddy\u201d Combs <\/strong>and Sam Bankman-Fried <\/strong>(from the crypto con), who all happen to be luxuriating in the same prison.  Sure, the musical is selling out a 49-seat theatre and not Radio City Music Hall<\/em>, but it shows our collective fascination with bad boys.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
