\n\u2013 <\/em>Jonathan Bailey <\/strong>was asked to choose between RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race<\/em> or
\nThe Great British Bake Off<\/em><\/strong>.  As to \u201csoggy bottoms\u201d, he\u2019d be more likely to find
\nthem on the baking show, since most competitive drag queens tend to
\nbe more…shall we say \u201caggressive\u201d.  But methinks he\u2019d like that, too.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Last week, a court case caught my eye.  Sean Charles Dunn<\/strong>, a former Defense Department employee, was being accused of misdemeanor assault, resisting arrest, and interfering with a federal office.  Normally I\u2019m for all of that, but this case is particularly sweet because Dunn was charged with assaulting the officer in question with a \u201csubmarine-style sandwich\u201d.  During the exchange, Mr. Dunn screamed, \u201cFuck you, you fucking fascists\u201d.  The only thing he did that I can\u2019t condone was that he attempted to flee the scene.  Frankly, I would have held up the Subway <\/em>wrapper like Norma Rae. Oh, didn\u2019t I mention \u2013 it was a Subway <\/em>sub!  In the defense attorney\u2019s opening statement, she said, \u201cHe did it.  He threw the sandwich\u201d \u2013 which was the only thing to say since someone videotaped the incident.  She continued by characterizing the incident as \u201ca harmless gesture that did not, could not, cause injury.\u201d  That depends on what kinda sub it was.  When I get the Italian BMT with double meat, it\u2019s pretty hefty.  The officer who was the recipient of the sandwich says that he \u201ccould smell the onions and mustard\u201d on his uniform \u2013 and that the mustard stained his shirt.  I don\u2019t think that counts as assault, but perhaps salt!  The prosecutor said, \u201cHere we have the defendant, throwing a sandwich, but he\u2019s throwing it hard.  That meets the definition of force.\u201d  Alas, the jury didn\u2019t see it that way.  Although they repeatedly had to be admonished by the judge for laughing during testimony, they did find Mr. Dunn not guilty.<\/p>\n

Every once in a while, something happens that makes me long to be in LA.  Last weekend was one of those times, when the Academy<\/em>\u2019s Governors Awards <\/em><\/strong>were presented to Debbie Allen<\/strong>, Tom Cruise<\/strong>, Wynn Thomas<\/strong>, and Dolly Parton <\/strong>(who accepted via remote).  But this isn\u2019t what I cared about.  On the eve of the event, Debbie held a party at her Dance<\/em> Academy<\/em>.  That\u2019s where she coaxed Tom Cruise onto the dance floor to get jiggy wit it.  He did one of those dances like your mom did at weddings.  Or like Joy Behar <\/strong>does on The View<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 with the hands in the air and snapping.  Suddenly, so close that she could smell his Tinactin<\/em>, appeared my Play Mama<\/em><\/strong>, the irrepressible Jenifer Lewis<\/strong>…in a head scarf!  And that, dear readers, is quite a sight to see.  See it you can…on BillyMasters.com<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
