Even off the air, Queer Eye<\/em><\/strong> keeps making news.  Suddenly another person is dishing some dirt…going all the way back to season one.  Tan France <\/strong>claims that prior to the 2018 premiere, he was involved in a tense confrontation.  \u201cI\u2019ve never said this before, and I won\u2019t say who it was, but during filming of that first season, somebody on the cast was quite frustrated with me when they found out that I wasn\u2019t out to my family.\u201d  I have so many comments.  First, you\u2019re cast on a show called Queer Eye<\/em>.  You know it\u2019s going to be on TV.  You surely understand that people are going to watch it and your family is going to find out you\u2019re gay \u2013 unless, of course, they\u2019re Amish!  Sidebar \u2013 I think I just stumbled onto a great idea for a new reality show.  Putting that all aside, do I believe that everybody has the right to come out in their own time and in their own way?  Yes.  Allegedly, the co-star who had an issue with Tan also said the following: \u201cYou\u2019re kind of a traitor to us on the show if you\u2019re not out.  Like, how can you be on Queer Eye <\/em>and not be singing it from the rooftops?\u201d  Once again, I\u2019m of two minds.  First, I think we\u2019re throwing the word \u201ctraitors\u201d around more than Alan Cumming<\/strong>.  Also, why do gays have to sing from rooftops?  France put a button on it: \u201cYou have no idea what my experience is as a queer Muslim, a queer brown person, a queer immigrant.\u201d  That\u2019s true \u2013 but I do have a very good idea of what anybody\u2019s experience would be being a closeted gay person on a gay television reality show.<\/p>\n

Matteo Lane<\/strong> made a revelation of his own \u2013 he and hubby Rodrigo Aburto <\/strong>have split up.  You\u2019ll recall, Matteo and Rodrigo had a whirlwind courtship in 2023.  They flirted online in March, met in April, married in August.  Hey, sometimes it works.  Alas, this wasn\u2019t one of those times.  Eagle-eyed fans were the first to notice.  Back in May of 2025, Rodrigo deleted all photos with Matteo from social media.  And in September, Matteo posted photos with an Italian model named Gianluca Volgare<\/strong>.  Finally, Matteo decided to address it all on his podcast.  \u201cI don\u2019t know how to say this.  Rodrigo and I did break up.  I know a lot of people have been asking about it.  Yeah, we did break up, but the good thing about this is that him and I are still friends with each other.\u201d  Like me, Matteo knows that the best material comes from experience.  \u201cI called him and I was like, \u2018Hey, I have a bunch of jokes.  I want to read them over with you first because I wouldn\u2019t want to talk on stage without you knowing.\u2019\u201d  Rodrigo laughed and felt the material was fine.  And for the record, Matteo and Gianluca did indeed date briefly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
