The story of the week was Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/strong>\u2019s return to hosting a talk show.  On the whole, people were happy to see her back on the scene.  It wasn\u2019t an effortless fit \u2013 it\u2019s late night, someone else\u2019s slot, staff, guests, and format.  But she brought enough of her Rosie charm to make people nostalgic for the O\u2019Donnell magic.  Her ratings were so high, she outperformed all of Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong>\u2019s other summer guest hosts.  She even trounced Jimmy Fallon<\/strong>.  And I suspect she had more than a few viewers from DC!<\/p>\n

Alas, nothing is without controversy.  There was one person less thrilled than The Donald<\/em><\/strong>.  Kathy Griffin <\/strong>started the week promoting the show: \u201cSo excited to watch my pal, the brilliant @rosie O\u2019Donnell subbing in all week for the equally brilliant and all around great guy @jimmykimmellive…I\u2019m going to watch every minute.  Go Rosie.\u201d  But when it came to her YouTube <\/em>show, Kathy was in victim mode.  \u201cIt\u2019s embarrassing to say, but I have to tell you guys \u2018cause we\u2019re friends.  My feelings are really hurt that I was not invited to go on Rosie\u2019s week of the Jimmy Kimmel show.\u201d  Once Rosie got word of this, she responded via Instagram: \u201cKathy \u2013 shoulda called me honey \u2013 I didn\u2019t choose the guests.\u201d  Why do these people ask and answer personal questions in public?  If Kathy had a problem with her pal, why not just shoot her a text: \u201cRosie \u2013 good luck this week.  Rooting for you.  Wish I were there with you.\u201d  And Rosie could have said, \u201cThanks, honey \u2013 I didn\u2019t choose the guests.\u201d  All kinda silly.<\/p>\n

Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em><\/strong> has something The Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/em><\/strong> didn\u2019t have \u2013 a network with balls.  ABC<\/em> just filed a suit against the Federal Communications Commission <\/em>over its plans to modify the network\u2019s broadcast license.  Months ago, El Presidente <\/em>called for a full revocation of ABC and NBC<\/em>\u2019s licenses (obviously CBS <\/em>is in his back pocket).  ABC\u2019s lawsuit asks the court to put a halt to the license renewal process and requests a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction.  ABC \u2013 the home of Jimmy Kimmel and The View<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
