As unlikely as that last story was, we have a topper.  Lisa Rinna <\/strong>is actively campaigning to join the Broadway <\/em>cast of Oh, Mary!<\/em><\/strong>…as Mary!  She even released a video explaining her reasoning.  \u201cI would like to play Mary Todd Lincoln <\/strong>in Oh, Mary!<\/em>  We\u2019re pushing for it but I don\u2019t think they think I can do it.  So I want you to know that it\u2019s something I would like to do and we\u2019re trying to manifest it and make it happen.  But I don\u2019t think they think \u2013 they, meaning the casting directors \u2013 I don\u2019t think they think I can actually do it.  But I can.\u201d  Rinna previously appeared on Broadway <\/em>in 2007 as one of the numerous gals who played Roxie Hart in Chicago<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In a slightly more expected bit of casting, Leah Remini <\/strong>is joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em><\/strong>.  Remini, no stranger to reality TV, previously had a TLC <\/em>show about her family back in 2014.  More recently, she had a fantastic show about people who escaped the clutches of Scientologists<\/em>.  Now, if they could finally track down Shelly Miscavige <\/strong>to join the cast, Bravo <\/em>would have a show I\u2019d actually watch!<\/p>\n

Sometimes life imitates art.  Sometimes art imitates life.  And sometimes art imitates life imitating art.  That sure happened last week when Patti LuPone <\/strong>appeared during a special Fan Night <\/em>performance of Titanique<\/em><\/strong> on Broadway <\/em>(and she looked smashing).  Twice during the show, Jim Parsons <\/strong>in his role as Rose\u2019s Mother addressed a life-sized cutout of Patti LuPone \u2013 a notable Mama Rose herself.  After his performance of \u201cRose\u2019s Turn\u201d, the real LuPone walked onstage to applaud him.  \u201cThe show is fabulous, it\u2019s so funny, you\u2019re wonderful!\u201d  She then continued, \u201cBut your daughter?  Oh, she\u2019s a handful!  And I would keep her away from that Jack Dawson.  The tight pants?  And I think he\u2019s a bottom!\u201d  You can see it on BillyMasters.com<\/u><\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n

Back in October of 2016, the revival of Falsettos<\/em><\/strong> opened with a cast that included Christian Borle<\/strong>, Andrew Rannells<\/strong>, Stephanie J. Block<\/strong>, Tracie Thoms<\/strong>, Brandon Uranowitz<\/strong>, and Betsy Wolfe<\/strong>.  The company is reuniting for a one-night-only benefit performance which will take place on October 18th<\/sup> at Carnegie Hall <\/em>\u2013 so you can bet your ass they\u2019ll be practicing!  The event will benefit The BroadwayEveryDay Foundation <\/em>and Family Equality<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This next item is in the column for two reasons: 1) Because I don\u2019t think we\u2019ve had nearly enough hot guys in this column and B) Because I\u2019m a sucker for a segue.  Last week, Tuc Watkins <\/strong>turned 60.  Of course, Andrew Rannells <\/strong>took to the web because…well, when you\u2019re dating someone as hot as Tuc, you don\u2019t need any other reason.  Come to think of it, I bet he\u2019s a sucker, too!  Happy birthday, Tuc. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
