Have Some Rum and a Tug
Picture it: Los Angeles, last week. An old lady’s rattan purse goes on the auction block. Conservative estimates range from ten to fifteen thousand dollars, given its provenance. After some heady bidding, it sells for $192K. That purse was carried by Estelle Getty when she played Sophia Petrillo on The Golden Girls, making it the most expensive prop from the show that has ever been auctioned off. The previous high earner was Betty White’s director’s chair, which went for $76K!
In a more current television venture, Dylan Walsh found himself in hot water. As you know, he plays Shane’s dad on Heated Rivalry. Like many actors, he supplements his income with Cameo messages. Alas, one of those clips went public, and this is what he said: “Getting ready to go back up to Canada and shoot some more episodes…so, I think we’re doing 12 this time.” No big deal, right? Except HR creator, Jacob Tierney said he’d prefer to do only six episodes. “I don’t need to do 10. I would always rather tighten the belt than get loosey-goosey. I would rather be like, ‘Let’s see how much story we can pack into these episodes.’” Dylan’s Cameo account has been temporarily disabled with this note: “Stepping away because a video went viral that got me in trouble.” Oops!

Our Ask Billy question required some enjoyable digging. Randy in Texas said, “I’ve heard Rosie O’Donnell on a few podcasts say that she’s over Tom Cruise now that she’s seen some guy in Cats: The Jellicle Ball. Who is he and can you run a photo?”
That would be the lovely and talented Sydney Harcourt, who played Rum Tum Tugger. Rosie called him, “the sexiest human I’ve ever seen and so unbearably talented”. For a lesbian, she sure knows her male beefcake because Harcourt is indeed quite a delectable specimen. He not only enjoyed showing off his torso on stage, but in person as well. He posted a photo of himself showing off his assets in a post called “Tugger’s Jellicle Afters @ The Eagle” and captioned it like this: “Tonight. That’s where I’ll be celebrating closing. Find me on the dance floor. Wear a jock.” If you missed it, I will be glad to share some sizzling snaps on BillyMasters.com.

When I’m giving something to tug your rummer about, it’s definitely time to end yet another column. Before we wrap up, I want to take a moment to blow my own horn (which ain’t as easy as it used to be). This week, we are celebrating 31 years of entertaining the gays, the gay curious, and anyone else with the good sense to check out BillyMasters.com – the site that ain’t going anywhere. If you have a question for me, drop a note to Billy@BillyMasters.com and I promise to get back to you before I reveal I really am Lady Bunny (or, at the very least, her younger, thinner stand-in). Until next time, remember, one man’s filth is another man’s bible.
