Our first story is not much of a story at all.  In fact, it was preordained – perhaps in the stars, perhaps by the gods, perhaps by Billy himself.  It concerns the recent Liza at 80 concert at Carnegie Hall.  You didn’t have to be psychic to know Liza would not appear – regardless of her saying she “hoped” to attend.  One of the participants, Andrew Rannells, dutifully told Andy Cohen that Liza would not only be there, she actually selected all of the performers AND what they would perform.  Of course, he also believed Minnelli read her audiobook, so he’s a questionable source at best.  Oh, but it gets better.  It’s also been claimed that Liza wrote the entire script for the show herself.  Yeah, and she wrote her autobiography, too!  On that topic, Minnelli’s bestie Michael Feinstein performed at the concert.  Sister Lorna Luft also appeared.  So if Liza couldn’t be there…well, that speaks volumes.

In a related story, The Wizard of Oz at The Sphere in Las Vegas has brought in over $400 million.  So the venue has been on the lookout for another film that would lend itself to the interactive venue.  And I think they’ve come up with the perfect candidate – The Rocky Horror Picture Show.  The cult classic, which has been interactive since it debuted in 1975, seems like a perfect fit for 2027.  A spokesperson said, “With Sphere, we have the opportunity to take that spirit of immersion to an entirely new level.”  I would recommend wearing a slicker!
