At least The View went on hiatus with a bang.

There are very few rules in this world that I think are worth following.  But here’s one you don’t break – never piss off a drag queen.  And Representative Nancy Mace could learn this the hard way (and not in the good hard way).  During a recent subcommittee meeting about funding for various Smithsonian organizations, Mace brought up a photo of RuPaul in the National Museum of American History.  “RuPaul is a man that dresses like a woman… literally.  Do you know how many kids get raped by adults in this country?  Putting this kind of crap in front of kids sexualizes them, makes them vulnerable to people who wanna abuse them.”  I have a question – how many kids have been raped by a man in a dress?  Now tell me how many kids have been raped by a man not in a dress.  Seems to me the guys in trousers are the problem.  Some notable drag queens took Nancy to task.  Cynthia Lee Fontaine suggested that Mace “invest your time in education and also getting churches investigated for sexual abuse and conversion therapies damaging children by the pastors.”   To be fair to Miss Mace, I believe priests fall under the category of “men in dresses”.  After asking “can I sue?”, Kandy Muse said, “I’m talking with my lawyer.  I’ll let you know what he says.”  My bon ami Willam pointed out that “the continental congress wore wigs and heeled shoes.  They’re in the museum and didn’t want to rape kids did they?”  The jury’s still out on that one.
