Divas Between The Sheets
Barbra Streisand isn’t dying (or transitioning). And she isn’t performing. But she is writing her first children’s book. And By The Way will be coming out in March. “I love being ‘Gamma Barbra’ to my three wonderful young grandchildren. One of our favorite activities is reading picture books together – sometimes the same ones over and over again! So, I thought it would be fun to write my own book…for them…and hopefully, for other parents.” That’s all well and good, but please, Barbra, make it less than 992 pages!
Divas and books go together. So this leads us to a special event at the upcoming Gay Days Anaheim. Jaclyn Smith will be joining in the festivities! On September 20th, she’ll be doing a talk about her memoir, I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie. Tickets to the event include an autographed copy of the book and benefit Ability First, an organization that helps the disabled achieve their best. Grab your tickets at GayDaysAnaheim.com.

One of Dolly’s passions was providing books to children. The author of the Heated Rivalry books shares that passion. Rachel Reid announced a gift of $300K to the Annapolis Valley libraries in Nova Scotia. When five branches faced closure due to stalled municipal funding, Reid stepped in. “I had to do it because I don’t know what the point is of being a successful author in Nova Scotia if you’re not going to use it for good.”
