While he hasn’t been formally anointed “permanent guest host”, we hear that he’s the network’s first call when they need to fill a slot. Mario may also be filling a slot on Broadway. Rumor has it, he’s on the short list of potential replacements for when Martin Short leaves the smash hit It’s Only a Play at the end of March.
