Like everyone else out there, we have to talk about Caitlyn Jenner.  First, I must apologize for telling you Bruce would choose Heather as his female name.  Consider me just another in a long string of men Linda Thompson has screwed.  As it turns out, Heather really was up for contention.  Bruce says, “It’s one of the hardest things in life – choosing your own name.”  He liked the names Heather and Cathy but then started thinking about Caitlyn while watching the Miss America Pageant.  Jenner’s assistant also mentioned the name Caitlyn, and thus the name was born.  By the way, although he considered spelling it with a “K”, he thought that beginning it with a “C” was “the best way to break tradition, and the media associations” that accompanied the Kardashian name.

I think the Vanity Fair photo shoot was a courageous step and will help many people, but I still take some objection to the photo of Caitlyn in her scanties, which I call “Hiding Her Candy”.  Even if it was Kris Jenner in this outfit and pose, I’d think it was somewhat inappropriate for a woman of her age.  That said, who knew Jenner could look so glamorous – kinda like Rene Russo (who could play Caitlyn in the inevitable made-for-Lifetime movie).   The media tracked down Jenner’s mother to get her opinion.  “It was a wonderful day.  It takes so much courage to do what she’s doing.  When I first saw her, all I wanted to do was give her a big hug.”  Of course, it’s still an adjustment.  “It takes some time getting used to.  I’ve called her Bruce since the day he was born.  It’s going to take some time, but I will adjust.  I love her.  And she’s happy.  That’s all that matters.”
