For months, people have been talking about Richard Simmons – he’s missing, he’s depressed, he’s fat, he’s having trouble with his knees, he’s suicidal – we’ve heard it all.  However, a new report claims that the situation is more serious than suspected.  The New York Daily News ran a lengthy story based largely on the word of Mauro Oliveira, a longtime friend/masseur of Simmons.  According to Mauro, Richard is being controlled by his housekeeper of 30 years, Teresa Reveles, who is keeping all of Simmons’ friends away and allowing him to spiral into a state of severe depression.  Well, you’d be depressed too if you weren’t getting a happy ending!  Simmons’ publicist brushes all this speculation aside, saying, “Richard, after 40 years of being in the spotlight, is now simply taking a break from the public eye and working behind the scenes to continue to help those millions of people worldwide in need of his assistance and on several projects to be announced soon.”
