Marc Shaiman Ties the Knot

In some happy news, the enormously talented Marc Shaiman just married his beau, Louis Mirabal.  The wedding coincided with Lou’s retirement ceremony from the US Navy.  My Play Mama, Jenifer Lewis, kicked things off by singing the National Anthem.  During the flag ceremony, Nathan Lane read “Old Glory” while accompanied by Shaiman’s score from The American President.  The wedding itself was officiated by Tom Kirdahy, producer and spouse of Terrence McNally.  And at the reception, the fabulous Darlene Love sang “(Today I Met) The Boy I’m Gonna Marry” with Shaiman at the piano.  We’ll share videos from the event on BillyMasters.com.  Guests in attendance included Bette Midler, Patti LuPone, Whoopi Goldberg, and numerous others.  Congrats to the happy couple.
