Greetings from Europe.  I may have only been here for a few days, but I’ve already hit three countries.  So did my luggage.  Alas, we weren’t in the same countries at the same time.  Due to a late arrival at Heathrow, I barely made my connection to Dublin.  When my luggage didn’t arrive, I wasn’t that surprised.  Since I didn’t need to dress up for my assignation with a celebrated someone (I’m sure you can all guess who), my travel clothes would suffice.  I was told the bags would be delivered to me the next day.  HA!  Since I was heading back to Heathrow, I said I’d just pick them up there.  Except when I deplaned, I got word that they just landed in Dublin!  Oh, the drama.

I never would have imagined that I’d have anything in common with Kevin Bacon, but we are clearly living parallel lives.  We both seem to pack the same way – bringing old favorites that are dependable and versatile (much like yours truly).  Like me, Kev flew to Ireland.  Unlike me, he decided to ship his box of clothes via FedEx.  “I don’t buy a lot of clothes; I’ve had these clothes probably since the 90s.”  The box went from New York to Memphis (a FedEx hub), to France, to Germany and then to Israel.  “Not Ireland, Israel”.  Then it went back to France.  Then back to Israel.  And then to Germany.  Eventually the box made it to the UK, where it sat for five days.  “I don’t understand why.  It’s just sitting there.  I can’t get a person on the phone.  I have not been able to talk to anybody.  I could buy some clothes, but I want these clothes.”  After four weeks, he was reunited with his belongings and even filmed an “unboxing video”, which you can see on BillyMasters.com.
